In this
blog I am going to tell you about a beautiful place which is located near Mamanduru.
Mamanduru is a wonderful place for those who are busy working in cities every
day and living restless life with tensions and want to go somewhere on
weekends. Mamanduru is a village in Renigunta mandal of Chittoor district. This
place is 24 km from Tirupati. The surrounding areas of Tirumala are full of
greenery but this Mamanduru place is greener. Known as an eco-tourism center, Mamanduru
place can be visited with the whole family. This area is particularly
attractive to tourists with its hills, trees, canals and water bodies. This
place is open from 9 AM to 4 PM and the entry fee for this place is 30 rupees
per head. Here we are having parking facility also.
Mamanduru Forest Bungalow:
The British
discovered this place in 1920. Kenneth Anderson a British employee of that time,
saw a beautiful hill near Mamanduru village railway station and he built a
beautiful building on it. Since then, this place has been known as a beautiful
vacation spot for Britishers. After Alipiri foot path and Srivaari Mettu path
for devotees walking to Tirumala, Mamanduru path was once a very busy footpath.
Annamayya reached Tirumala by this route from Kadapa. Even still some pilgrims
go to Tirumala through this route. Since this Mamanduru village is a forest
area, the weather here is very peaceful. The forest department officials have
done many developments works in this area under eco-tourism. Here we are having
tent houses and huts for accommodation and also we are having a small park for
children.
Waterfalls:
After visiting
forest bungalow, if you go a little further you will see a board saying
Bavikada Line. If you walk about 1.5 km on that path, you will reach the
beautiful waterfalls here. The water flowing here has a special feature that is,
the water from Kumaradhara Theertham, Thumburu Theertham, Ramakrishna Theertham,
Papavinasana Theertham and Akasha ganga Theertham all meet here. The way you
reach this place gives you a best trekking and adventurous experience. Many
