The British discovered this place in 1920. Kenneth Anderson a British employee of that time, saw a beautiful hill near Mamanduru village railway station and he built a beautiful building on it. Since then, this place has been known as a beautiful vacation spot for Britishers. After Alipiri foot path and Srivaari Mettu path for devotees walking to Tirumala, Mamanduru path was once a very busy footpath. Annamayya reached Tirumala by this route from Kadapa. Even still some pilgrims go to Tirumala through this route. Since this Mamanduru village is a forest area, the weather here is very peaceful. The forest department officials have done many developments works in this area under eco-tourism. Here we are having tent houses and huts for accommodation and also we are having a small park for children.
